Meeting to ratify Self Regulation Standards and governance structures was attended by senior management representatives from Bollore Africa Logistics, EABL, Bamburi Cement, DHL, and Total Kenya.

2012 Safety Caravan KICC Flag Off

Chief guest Dr. Cyrus Njiru (PS Ministry of Transport), assisted by Traffic Commandant Mr. Ben Githinji, flags off the 2012 SWRW Road Safety Caravan as part of 18 November World Day for Road Crash Victims commemorations.

Safety Caravan Bamburi Cement Plant Flag Off

The Chief guest and traffic police boss Mr. Joshua Omukata , assisted by Mr. Joseph Adewa of SWRW, flag the 2012 SWRW Road Safety Caravan. The caravan's theme Kuwa Mpole barabarani  was used to disseminate  road safety message to over 150,000 road users in twelve towns and cities along the MSA-NRB-Malaba highway.

Safety Caravan Athi River Bamburi Cement Plant Flag Off

Bamburi Managing Director, assisted by Total Kenya MD and local  senior police,  flag off the 2012 SWRW Road Safety Caravan en-route to Nairobi  to take part in the World Day for Road Crash Victims commemorations.

Safety Caravan - Crowds Gather

The 2012 SWRW Road Safety Caravan itinerary included 12 towns and cities ( Mombasa -Voi - Mtito Andei -Salama - Emali - Athi River -Nairobi - Mai  Mahiu, Salgaa, Mau Summit, Eldoret, and Malaba).

  The Children's Road Safety Casmapign instills  4 rules viz:1. I MUST WALK ON THE SIDE WALK, 2. I MUST MOVE CALMLY AND WITH CAUTION,3. I MUST STOP AND LOOK AROUND ME BEFORE CROSSING 4. I MUST LEARN ABOUT AND OBEY TRAFFIC SIGNS.

The fleet managers and directors training was attended by  senior management from leading transport firms such as Roy Transmotors, Roy  Hauliers, AO Bayusuf, Multiple Hauliers, Wargen, Diba Boru, Global Trucks and Buzeki.

Safe Driver Pledges

I belt up always and ensure all my passengers use safety belts before departing

 

I obey speed limits and other road signs

I always warn others in good time of my intention to turn, change lanes or overtake

 

 

I look out for motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians

 

I warn others when I stop at hazardous points or spot a hazard ahead

I slow down at junctions even when I have right of way

 

 

I take regular breaks on long journeys.

I do not use my mobile phone while driving or while fueling in a petrol station

 

 

I do not drink and drive or drive under the influence of drugs

I do not overload or carry excess passengers

I do not overtake until it is safe to do so

I ensure my vehicle is well maintained and I do a walk around inspection of the vehicle before driving off.

 

As a motor cyclist, I use a helmet and ensure my passenger wears a helmet before departing
